Minneapolis Restaurant Spotlight: Earl Giles
From the moment I walked through the front door, while Matt wondered out loud if I had taken him to Bachman's, I was in love. This place is adorable, a plant lovers dream come true. I mean who doesn't want to sip a perfectly crafted cocktail surrounded by plants? I can't possibly be the only one.
The ambiance was nothing short of delightful, boasting a spacious interior that was once an airplane hanger. The ample natural light was a welcome touch, benefiting both the plants and our overall enjoyment.
We decided to take a seat at the bar, our preferred spot as we enjoy striking up conversations with the bartenders. We were promptly greeted and served, and after some deliberation, we settled on our drink orders: a Rabbit Kick for me and a classic Bloody Mary for Matt. Despite my initial hesitation due to the unconventional, to me, ingredients - carrot juice, vanilla, lemon, and gin - the Rabbit Kick was the bartender's recommendation and I am pleased to report that it exceeded my expectations. It was so delicious that I indulged in two!
Once we had perused the cocktail list, we ordered the Chicken Tendie sandwich and a pepperoni pizza to share. While both dishes were satisfying, the Chicken Tendie sandwich won our hearts. We were impressed to discover that the establishment is family-friendly, which we will take advantage of by bringing our older kids on a future visit.
All in all, our experience was so enjoyable that we are already planning our next visit. It is safe to say that we are fans of this charming distillery!
